Croft Castle

The National Trust

I went to Croft Castle with my parents and their friends. If you like going to castles, you'll like this one.
As it's lovely inside!
There are beautiful gardens for you to walk round. It's good for the family as they activities for all ages! You can discover the 1,000-year history of the Croft family. Inside the castle house you can pretend to dress up in the clothes.
My favourite bit was that there was a pink tree, yes a pink tree!
Croft Castle is near Leominster, Herefordshire.
I will go again!

Hanbury Hall

I'm a member of the National Trust. I like going to see the old houses and castles. One of my favourites is Hanbury Hall.

Hanbury Hall is a William and Mary-style house built in 1701.
It's a lovely house to look around. My favourite bit was walking round the gardens and going on the walks. If you like to go on walks this is the place for you. You can even stroll down through the gardens and enjoy a game of bowls. It's good for a family day out as there's things for the whole family. Like play area for the children. Discover the story of the stunning wall-paintings which I enjoyed looking at.
Another favourite part of Hanbury Hall was the trees, theres one that looks like an unbrella and the other one that looks like a U shape.
I've been twice to Hanbury Hall and I will go again.
Hanbury Hall is in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire.

The Lord is my Strength poem

One of my bestest friends wrote this poem for me. As when I was going through a rough time she sent this to me and it cheered me up and it reminded me that I can do all this in the Lord's Strength!
You can do all things through Jesus Christ!

The lord is my strength
The walls around me tumble down,
A blow to my head and my heart with every brick that falls,
Trapped beneath the rubble,
Suffocating alone.

But your hand it reaches out to me,
You pull away the rocks and you clear the dust,
A crack of light shines in this ocean of darkness.
You call to me,
Willing me to take your hand,
Desperate to pull me out from this pit of destruction.
I hold out my hand,
But I can not reach,
‘A little further’ you call, ‘just a little further’,
I push away from the things that are strangling me and I grasp your hand,
‘A little tighter’ I hear you say,
‘A little tighter and I can pull you out’.

I squeeze your hand with all my might,
You kiss it, and place your other hand over mine,
Gently, ever so gently, but with a force I can not explain – you pull me out,
I stumble over the debris,
But I do not fall,
For your hand guides me to safety,
When I get tired and weary and I just can’t go on,
You whisper to me ‘Lean on me child, let me be your strength’
Together we walk,
With you I am not afraid,
For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

The Lord is my strength

I recently lost my job of 8 years as a nursery nurse, I was so upset becasue I loved my job so much. I felt like digging a hole and burying myself in it. But instead of suffocating myself with dirt i decided to give my heart, soul and worries to God. My family and friends were a huge support in this time and with their encourgement I have been able to overcome this challenge. But more importantly God has been my strength through this challenging time, I have felt his prescence through these hard times as I have held on to him through prayer. I have learnt that through prayer I can do all things! One friend made the point that through this trial I have learnt not to do things in my own strength but to lean on God instead.
Bible verses which have been particulalry meaningful to me have been:

"Don't worry about anything: instead pary about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4: 6-7

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

introducing me

My name is Joanna Hill, I am a young Christian lady aged 26. I have attended a Baptist church since i was 8 years old and am a baptised member of the church, I have worked as a nursery nurse for the last 8 years and volunteer in my church working with the chidlren and young people.

My passions are; Jesus, all things disney related, cats, playing the guitar, children and of course my wonderful friends.

My favourite Bible verse is Zephaniah 3:17 'The Lord your God is with you; the mighty one will save you. He will rejoice over you. You will rest in his love; and he will sing and be joyful about you.' I love this verse because the first time i saw it i felt like a personal message to me, God was telling me personally that he rejoiced over me. When i read it i felt the arms of God surrounding me, I felt his presence.
